ProfileThe founder and owner of
Essentia Nutrition, Norma Bridge, graduated from
the
Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION)
in London and the University of Bedfordshire,
and has over fourteen years experience as a
Nutritional Therapist. ION is recognised as one
of the foremost nutritional institutes in the
United Kingdom. Although her training has
covered all areas of health and nutrition
Norma's experience has focused on health issues
such as digestive and gut (Irritable Bowel
Syndrome - IBS, candida overgrowth, Small Intestinal
Bacterial Overgrowth - SIBO, leaky gut and
conditions associated with it, such as
autoimmune disorders, food intolerances, immune imbalances, joint
health, skin complaints, low energy, etc). Norma is a member of the professional body for nutritional therapists - British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT). As a registered BANT member Norma abides by their strict code of ethics and their requirements for qualifications and professional development. Norma is also registered as a qualified Nutritional Therapist by the Nutritional Therapy Council (NTCC), the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
In the past, Norma has tutored with Premier Global and CNM
Bristol, College of Naturopathic Medicine,
where she taught clinical skills to
nutritional therapy students. Also, previously
qualified and worked as a zest4life
Weightloss & Wellness Coach. Nutritional Therapy is a rapidly
evolving discipline, Norma believes its
essential to keep up to date with the latest
developments in the field by attending
webinars, seminars and courses, such as
Certified SIBO Expert with Dr Alison Siebecker
ND, GI Health Mastercourse with Dr
Jason Hawrelak, Gut Transformation
Programme with Nutri Advance and The Brain
Health Programme with Cytoplan. Originally from Indiana, USA, Norma trained and qualified as a Licensed Dental Hygienist from Indiana University. After working a few years in Indiana she moved to Bern, Switzerland to work and travel for several years before moving to England with her husband and two children.
